This piece was originally composed for Meg Griffith (flute) as part of the 2023 Texas New Music Festival. This version was revised in 2024, expanding on the original ideas and doubling the length of the composition. The piece is inspired by solitary bats flying during dusk, particularly those of the American Southwest, imagining they are so happy that another night has come.
